Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs, including gathering information about presenting concerns, psychiatric history, and psychosocial factors.
Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical diagnosis, incorporating their goals, strengths, and preferences.
Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and other modalities tailored to clients' needs.
Offer crisis intervention services as needed, including risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination with emergency services or hospitalization if necessary.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required paperwork in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources to support ongoing recovery and wellness.
Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and emerging trends in the field of mental health therapy through continuing education, training, and participation in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
Master's or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field from an accredited institution. Current licensure as a mental health therapist (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent) in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland or Virginia
Minimum of 2-3 years of post-licensure experience providing therapy services to individuals with diverse mental health concerns, preferably in an outpatient setting.
Proficiency in conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based psychotherapy interventions. Experience with trauma-informed care, substance abuse treatment, and/or dual diagnosis populations is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport, demonstrate empathy, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to upholding ethical standards of practice, confidentiality, and professional conduct in accordance with relevant state laws and professional codes of ethics.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, support staff, and external providers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.
Comfort with using electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms for documentation, communication, and service delivery.
