Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs, including gathering information about presenting concerns, psychiatric history, and psychosocial factors.

  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical diagnosis, incorporating their goals, strengths, and preferences.

  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and other modalities tailored to clients' needs.

  • Offer crisis intervention services as needed, including risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination with emergency services or hospitalization if necessary.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required paperwork in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.

  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources to support ongoing recovery and wellness.

  • Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and emerging trends in the field of mental health therapy through continuing education, training, and participation in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field from an accredited institution. Current licensure as a mental health therapist (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent) in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland or Virginia

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of post-licensure experience providing therapy services to individuals with diverse mental health concerns, preferably in an outpatient setting.

  • Proficiency in conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based psychotherapy interventions. Experience with trauma-informed care, substance abuse treatment, and/or dual diagnosis populations is desirable.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport, demonstrate empathy, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients from diverse backgrounds.

  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards of practice, confidentiality, and professional conduct in accordance with relevant state laws and professional codes of ethics.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, support staff, and external providers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for clients.

  • Comfort with using electronic health record (EHR) systems and teletherapy platforms for documentation, communication, and service delivery.
